Dear CACNS Members,
I am honored to announce that the California Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists (CACNS) is now accepting nominations for two board positions: President-Elect and Recording Secretary. Serving in these roles offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of our profession, influence important decisions, and contribute to the continued growth of CACNS. We encourage you to consider nominating yourself or a colleague who has demonstrated strong leadership and a passion for the CNS community.
- President-Elect: Act in place of the President when necessary and assume all the duties of the President upon his/her resignation. Mentored by the Board for at least six months to one year prior to assuming the position of President.
- Recording Secretary: Responsible to keep a true record of the proceedings of all meetings of the CACNS and to distribute these minutes to the Board of Directors within a timely manner. Responsible for electronically storing and archiving all records (documents, photographs, electronic media, etc.) related to the activities of the CACNS.
Please submit the attached nomination application to the Nominations Committee Chair Jeannie Meyer at jmeyer@mednet.ucla.edu by October 14, 2024. Candidates must be CACNS members with an active CNS licensure with the California Board of Registered Nursing. This is an exciting time to join the team and contribute to the work that will define the future of CNS practice in California. We look forward to welcoming new leaders to the CACNS board!
Sincerely,
Mary Lawanson-Nichols, MSN, RN, CNS, NP, CCRN, FCNS
