President's Quarterly Message

California CNSs, we are at a pivotal juncture. Our organization is moving forward with new steps toward achieving full practice authority, which will enhance our ability to deliver patient care independently and elevate our impact across the healthcare landscape. To succeed, we need every CNS—regardless of CACNS membership—to join us in reaching out to legislators to let them know who CNSs are and what we contribute. Participation is as simple as sharing your story—helping lawmakers recognize your role and achievements.

This November, we will be sharing another presentation to guide you in letter writing. Alternatively, reach out to CACNS on the website and we will connect you with your Regional Director for personal support.

Please mark your calendars and plan to attend the National CNS Conference, which will be held nearby in San Diego, March 9-12th, 2026.

I hope everyone took the opportunity to celebrate CNS &  APP Week alongside our Advance Practice colleagues! Celebrating Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Week is a special opportunity to honor the vital contributions of nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, physician assistants, nurse anesthetists, and nurse midwives to patient care and healthcare innovation. APP Week, held annually in late September, shines a spotlight on the expertise, commitment, and compassionate service these professionals bring to every healthcare setting.
